If you are searching for silicone dentures, you are looking for flexible partial dentures. They are actually made from a nylon-based thermoplastic, not silicone, but the term has stuck.
WHAT THEY ARE: Partial dentures made from a soft, pliable material that flexes around your teeth. No metal clasps — retention comes from gum-coloured clips.
WHAT THEY SOLVE: Visible metal clasps (aesthetics). Metal or acrylic sensitivities. Front-of-mouth gaps where appearance matters.
LIMITATIONS: Harder to reline than acrylic. Not suitable for large spans. May stain without proper care.
HOW THEY COMPARE: Cheaper than chrome, more expensive than acrylic. Better aesthetics than both. Less rigid, which can be a pro or con depending on the case.
We assess each case individually. Visit our Partial Dentures page for the full comparison.
