Choosing between acrylic and chrome partial dentures comes down to your clinical situation, timeline, and budget.
ACRYLIC:
Lowest cost. Bulkier but easy to modify. Best for transitional cases, budgets, or mouths still changing (planned extractions).
CHROME (COBALT-CHROME):
Thinner, lighter, stronger. Distributes chewing forces more evenly. More comfortable for daily wear. Higher cost but better long-term value for stable mouths.
FLEXIBLE:
No metal clasps — virtually invisible. Good for front-tooth gaps. Mid-range pricing. Not suitable for every case.
DECISION FRAMEWORK:
If further extractions are planned → acrylic (easier to modify).
If your mouth is stable and you want long-term comfort → chrome.
If visible clasps are unacceptable → flexible.
